Our client’s mission is to increase the number of states implementing student-first educational policies and expand educational options. They seek to emerge as a leading technical assistance provider helping states develop effective legislative, lobbying, and advocacy campaigns in support of student-centered, parental-choice policies. The project goal was to build tools, processes and templates that build internal capacity.
Solution Partners helped our client to operationalize its policymaking and implementation goals in a tactical action plan. We supported the creation of lobbying, stakeholder engagement, and communications strategies. Solution Partners implemented project management practices to support strategy execution. We expanded our client’s internal capacity using a cloud-based tool to track policy development and technical-assistance initiatives nationwide. We produced several deliverables, including a policy/advocacy/lobbying tool kit, a stakeholder management guide, and customized templates for drafting regulations, procurement, and reporting.
Our client increased its capacity to provide technical assistance to states currently implementing student-centered policies and track implementation status. They have expanded the number of states considering this type of legislation and increased the availability and use of policy development and implementation tools. Our client also successfully scaled its technical-assistance efforts without creating additional human resource demands.
Our client’s mission is to reduce the likelihood of wrongful convictions based on flawed forensic science. Our client’s wanted to create an innovative model for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses that is highly interactive and immersive. The project goal was to create course content relevant diverse audiences and outline ways to challenge its use in the courtroom.
Solution Partners conducted legal and academic research to identify experts and determine cases on-point. We conducted a landscape assessment of existing CLE programs, documented compliance requirements, and developed learning activities and assessment methods. We leveraged project management practices to establish production timelines, clarify resource needs, manage vendors, control costs and increase our client’s internal capacity to administer the new CLE program. We delivered a model curriculum, course design and production plan for two CLE forensic science courses.
Our client will release two new, innovative, immersive forensic science CLEs in 2024. The courses represent best-in-class learning experiences and seamlessly integrate best practices in education and litigation. Our client’s CLE courses will provide participants access to the most recent research, case law, and expert opinions where forensic science played a central role in case resolution. Theses courses will enable legal professionals to identify and challenge the inclusion of junk science in criminal cases, thereby reducing the likelihood of wrongful convictions.
Our client’s mission is to defend and expand the legal rights of presently and formerly incarcerated individuals. They advocate for systemic reforms that expand the rights of presently and formerly incarcerated people focusing on confinement, human rights violations and allegations of abuse, voting rights, the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), and wrongful convictions. The goal of the project was to expand and increase the use of resources for justice-impacted people across the nation.
Solution Partners coordinated the production of 20+ Know Your Rights (KYR) Voting Guides. We created systems and processes for standardizing legal references across Voting Guides and proposed process improvements for the production of similar resources in the future. We provided expert guidance and technical recommendations around the creation of dashboards to display data from national surveys on conditions of confinement. Solution Partners customized and delivered an on-the-job coaching and professional development program for L2 and L3 clerks, addressing teamwork, communication, time management, and project management. We also facilitated workshops to draft the organization’s 2024 Reform Agenda.
The client has been able to increase its operational efficiency, maximize the utilization of pro bono legal services, and optimize its reach and impact nationwide. It issued a critique of the implementation of the Prison Rape Elimination Act and set forth its Dignity Reform agenda for priorities.
